This past week I have woken up only to stumble out of bed and look at the thermometer reading for outside, and it has consistently been in the 30’s! Buurrrr… Fall has left too quickly and I miss the smell of crisp leaves and bonfires. I know having a woodburing fireplace might be messy and a hassle to always have wood handy (or maybe this is just the perfect excuse to marry a mountain man!) but don’t these look so cozy and wonderful! Wool socks, cup of coffee, a good book while sitting next to the fire! That is how everyone should spend their day.
I have been looking for inspiration for creating my own headboard. They are SO expensive and I am convinced I could make one for 1/3 of the cost. Here are some ideas that I have been looking at:
I woke up this morning only to discover that it is freaking freezing outside!!! All I want to do is curl up in my apartment and hibernate all winter long until the sun comes back to me. This is what I will need to survive:
Stay warm this winter!!!
28 days ago marks the beginning of my vegan (aka ‘kind’) lifestyle. I will be honest with you and say that eliminating leather products from my wardrobe was a huge fear of mine. So many “vegan friendly” shoes absolutely terrify me, but I am determined to find fashion forward shoes, purses, belts, etc. where no animals had to die for a new trend. After doing a little research, these are some of the amazing vegan pieces I found.
While in Athens, I was able to go to the famous Monastiraki Market. It was my idea of a perfect Sunday. We woke up early, took the metro to the Monastiraki Station, woke ourselves up over a cappuccino at an open air cafe while watching the hustle and bustle of the market enfold right in front of us. People watching is one of my favorite past times so I felt right at home. Every Sunday at around 6am, antique dealers and local vendors arise early to fill the streets in hopes to sell their most treasured possession. It’s simply amazing. You will find the most intricate turkish rugs, pocket watches, candle stick holders, light fixtures, flower-pot, handle knobs, and the list just goes on and on. While meandering around all morning, I made note that the Monastiraki Market would be a perfect place to find those ‘rare finds’ when T&M takes off.
I will be back, just wait!
As we are heading into my favorite season, FALL, I can’t help think of my Sunday routine; taking long baths on a sunday afternoon while listening to Over the Rhine. Try it sometime, you will be amazed! Add a glass a wine and it will be pure bliss.
