My mother is a lot like Mabel in that she loves flowers, gardening, creating–using nature as a way to express herself. As a result, my childhood was filled with long hours at flower shops, spending time in the yard, and watching my dad carefully follow my mom’s instructions as she expanded her garden empire in the backyard. Growing up I resented having to participate in these weekend yard work rituals. Putting sticks in a bag and raking leaves is not fun when you’re 10. But now I appreciate her talent and the hard work she put into these wonderful creations and I’ve enjoyed having her teach me how to create my own secret garden. She’s teaching me to turn this:

The Backyard

…Into This!

The Terrarium!

Here are some more shots from the garden and the resulting terrariums.

My Dads back patio

The backyard in a jar!

That chair is calling my name. Better than my desk chair!

Just a few for summer inspiration.

The inside:)

More patio because it is oh so beautiful!

More terrariums. Soon to be for sale!

Remember Ted&Mabel will always be cat friends.

Sneak peak of our fall line!

To get the ball rolling on Theodore and Mabel, mom and I are collaborating. In the next month or so, we’ll be coming out with OUR VERY FIRST LINE OF TERRARIUMS…our FALL line.  So keep watching this space for some sneak peaks. In the meantime, if you have any requests, suggestions, tips, comments, or compliments (these are my favorite), then send them my way:  I’d love to hear from you.
